1. Who we are
Subby Hub is a New Zealand business operating the trade-to-trade marketplace at subbyhub.co.nz. We connect subcontractors, sole traders and trades businesses directly with each other.
We are the "agency" responsible for your personal information under the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand). If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at hello@subbyhub.co.nz.
2. What personal information we collect
We only collect information you provide directly to us. When you join our waitlist, that includes:

We do not collect sensitive information such as financial account details, health information, or government-issued identity numbers.
3. How we collect your information
We collect information you provide directly through the waitlist signup form on our website. We do not collect information about you from third parties or public sources.
We also automatically receive basic technical information when you visit our site, including your IP address and browser type, through standard web server logs. This is not linked to your identity and is used only for security and performance monitoring.
4. How we use your information
We use your personal information only for the purposes it was collected:
- To add you to the Subby Hub waitlist and notify you when we launch
- To send you updates about the platform, including launch timelines and new features
- To create your account when the platform goes live
- To improve the platform by understanding the needs of NZ tradespeople
- To comply with our legal obligations
We will not use your information for any purpose that is incompatible with the above without your consent.
5. Third-party services we use
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our website. These services may receive or process some of your information:

Each provider has their own privacy policy, linked above. We choose providers that take data protection seriously and do not permit them to use your data for their own marketing purposes.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your waitlist information until one of the following happens:
- You ask us to delete it
- Your account is created and active on the platform (at which point it becomes account data governed by our Terms of Service)
- We determine the platform will not launch, in which case we will delete all waitlist data and notify you
We do not retain personal information for longer than is necessary for the purpose it was collected.
7. Do we share or sell your information?
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Ever.
We only share your information with the third-party service providers listed in Section 5 above, and only to the extent necessary to operate our service. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Subby Hub or others.
8. Storage and security
Your information is stored and processed using services hosted in the United States (Formspree) and globally distributed infrastructure (Netlify). Both providers maintain industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take this seriously and review our security practices regularly.
In the unlikely event of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required by the Privacy Act 2020.
9. Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
If your information is incorrect or out of date, you can ask us to correct it.
You can ask us to delete your information and remove you from our waitlist at any time.
You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your rights have been breached.

10. Cookies and tracking
Our website does not currently use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics purposes. Google Fonts may set a cookie as part of its standard CDN operation — this is a technical cookie that does not identify you personally and is not used by us for any tracking purpose.
We do not use advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or any third-party analytics tools on this website.
11. Links to other websites
Our website may contain links to external websites (such as third-party service providers referenced in this policy). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
12. Children's privacy
Subby Hub is a platform for trade businesses and working tradespeople. Our services are not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time as our platform evolves. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes that affect how we handle your personal information, we will notify you directly by email where possible.
Continued use of our website after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
